Reward cards and how to win them
Most cards are in the deck builder from day one. Reward cards aren't: you have to win them.
Last updated: October 24, 2026
How the prize works
- Sign in (an account is free). Wins only count with an account, because the cards are saved to it.
- Win 3 online matches in a row. A loss starts the streak again. Matches against The Captain don't count, and don't break the streak.
- After the third win a prize pick opens: three cards are shown face-up, one of them the newest reward card. They turn face-down and shuffle.
- Pick one. If it's the reward card, it's yours for good and can go in any deck.
Your chance depends on who you beat: each win over a real opponent improves it, up to one in three after three real wins. The result is decided by the game's server, not your browser, so it's the same fair draw for everyone. Your current streak is shown on the Football Duel home page.
The reward cards so far
The Curse of Injuries

Play it face-up during your Main Phase, like a Stadium, and curse 1 of your opponent's face-up players. At the start of each of their turns, the cursed player loses 300 ATK and 300 DEF for good. If the cursed player leaves the pitch, the curse moves to their strongest player.
Pelé

The King. Needs 3 substitutions. ATK and DEF = 1000 × the number of cards in your hand (it changes as your hand does). He plays this turn and your opponent's next turn, then he is sent off as your next turn begins.
Timer

The clock is ticking for your rival. Play it face-up during your Main Phase, like a Stadium. While it stays face-up, your opponent loses 300 Fan Support at the start of each of their turns.
How to play them
Pelé
Pelé is the only card in the game that needs three substitutions, so he belongs in decks that flood the pitch with cheap squad players. His strength is your hand: hold back cards for a turn or two, then bring him on with five or six cards in hand for a 5000 or 6000 ATK hit. Remember he only stays for your turn and your opponent's next one, so attack straight away.
Timer
The Timer is a slow, sure win condition. 300 Fan Support every opponent turn adds up to 3000 over ten turns. It's at its best in defensive decks that can stall: set Referee cards, keep players in Defense mode, and let the clock run.
The Curse of Injuries
Curse your opponent's best player, ideally one they will keep: a high-DEF goalkeeper or a star they paid two substitutions for. After three of their turns it has lost 900 ATK and 900 DEF, enough for your mid-range players to beat it. If they bench it, the curse simply moves to their next strongest player.
