What makes a Legend different
Legends are retired club icons, each tied to the club and the years they are remembered for: Henry at Arsenal from 1999 to 2007, Maradona at Napoli, Maldini at AC Milan. Their stats are higher than any current player except the two Gold cards, and many come with a special ✦ ability.
That power has a price. A Legend can't be brought on like a normal player: you need the Skill Legend's Call, which sends 2 of your players to the bench and brings the Legend on from your hand in face-up Attack mode, with a full-screen entrance. A deck can hold up to 3 Legends, and needs at least one Legend's Call if it has any.

Every Legend has an original illustration in the game's own frame. A few of them:
Legend abilities, explained
- Zinedine Zidane · Maestro: When he comes on, your other players gain +300 ATK until the end of the turn.
- Didier Drogba · Big Game Player: +1000 ATK while your Fan Support is lower than your opponent's.
- Roberto Carlos · Banana Free Kick: The turn he comes on, he can attack Fan Support directly, even past defenders.
- Gennaro Gattuso · Hard Man: Any player that attacks him permanently loses 500 ATK before the battle.
- Diego Maradona · Hand of God: Your opponent cannot respond to his attacks with set cards.
- Carles Puyol · Fair Play: While he is face-up on your pitch, your opponent cannot use Yellow Card or Red Card.
- Sergio Ramos · Last Stand: While your Fan Support is under 1000, his ATK equals his DEF. After he attacks, he is shown a red card and sent off.
- Gianluigi Buffon · Saint Gigi: The first time he would be sent off, he stays on the pitch in Defense mode instead.
- Paolo Maldini · Il Capitano: A player that attacks him while he is in Defense mode and fails to send him off is sent off itself.
Like every player skill, a Legend's ✦ ability works the turn they come on and your opponent's next turn. While the referee card Pierluigi Collina is face-up, no ability works, Legends included.
How to use Legends well
- Plan the substitutions. Legend's Call needs 2 of your players on the pitch. Keep two cheap squad players ready for it, players you don't mind losing: being substituted doesn't trigger their Last Breath.
- Pick Legends that fit your deck. Their club and nationality count for Stadiums and Nationality cards: Maldini and Gattuso shine in a Milan deck, Xavi and Iniesta in a Barcelona deck with the Camp Nou.
- Protect them. Your opponent will aim everything at your Legend. A set Offside Trap or Tactical Foul behind it buys a turn.
- Mind the budget. Legends count toward the 130★ squad budget like any player: three 10★ Legends use 30 stars of it.
New Legends
The latest Legends added to the game are the midfield pairs Xavi and Iniesta (Barcelona) and Modrić and Kroos (Real Madrid). New Legends are announced on the news page.
